It's all started back in 1979 when AERODIUM Company developed the first recreational vertical wind tunnel for bodyflying and skydiving. It was developed and patented as the "Levitationairum" by canadian french inventor Jean St.Germain in 1979, in Quebec, Canada. In 1982 St.Germain sold his concept and helped to build 2 wind tunnels in America.
Since then technology has evolved and we are proud to be among those who spread the word about flying in vertical wind tunnels worldwide. We spend our time on earth - inventing technologies and in the air - testing and improving our ideas. This is how we became who we are - major supplier of vertical wind tunnels for bodyflight and indoor skydiving worldwide.
Safety is the top priority of AERODIUM therefore all wind tunnels produced by AERODIUM are tested for safety by TüV Rheinland Group.
The long-term work of the AERODIUM team resulted in participation in the world’s most watched and significant show business event – an air acrobatics show at the closing ceremony of Torino 2006 Olympic Games. Special AERODIUM vertical wind tunnel was created for the show. The best bodyflyers from Latvia made spectacular show flying at a height of 25 meters during the live broadcast to billions of viewers all over the world.
